Beds and bedroom in Addis Ababa

Bedroom furniture in Addis Ababa comes in two main types. Local makers build beds, wardrobes and dressers in solid wood or in MDF with a veneer finish. Import showrooms sell complete bedroom sets with a matching bed, side tables and a wardrobe. Check the bed frame before you buy. A solid wood frame with metal brackets lasts longer than a frame held together with screws in particle board. Ask the size of the bed in centimetres, because local and imported sizes are not always the same, and buy a mattress that fits it. A large wardrobe often comes in parts, so ask who assembles it at home. The stores below sell beds and bedroom sets. Call ahead to check what is in stock.
