Ethio Best Real Estate is a private real estate developer in Addis Ababa. It builds luxury apartments and mixed-use buildings. Its current project is in Ayat, in the east of the city. Its head office is in Piassa, in the old city centre.

Who they are

The company's about page says Ethio Best Real Estate operates under Belsty Negessa and His Children Trading PLC. That parent company works in import and export. It trades in cereals, chemicals, steel and heavy equipment. Ethio Best says its sister companies have long experience in import trade.

The company says it sells units only after construction starts. It says it funds construction with its own money. It also says it delivers homes on the agreed date. We could not find an independent source that confirms its delivery record. The company does not state a founding year.

Projects and locations

The website lists three residential projects:

• Ethio Best Ayat Apartments. Luxury apartments in Ayat, around Mekodonya. The site marks the project as "selling now" and says it is in its final stages. Each floor has only two units, and the building has a terrace for events.
• Ethio Best Bole Apartments. A luxury apartment project in Bole, marked "coming soon".
• Ethio Best Haya Hulet Apartments. A luxury apartment project in Haya Hulet, marked "coming soon".

The company also offers commercial space. Its mixed-use buildings have shops, banks, restaurants, offices and supermarkets on the floors up to the 4th floor. It also rents out a small number of villas.

Ethio Best publishes few project details, so check these points before you pay:

• Visit the Ayat building and confirm how far construction has progressed.
• Ask for the land lease certificate and the building permit.
• Ask for the unit size, and whether it is net or gross.
• Get the price, the payment schedule and the delivery date in writing.
• Confirm which company signs the sales contract.
